Fairy forts in Ireland are often called forts because they look like warrior defences, but local memory may have known them as dwelling places for unseen neighbours. In Killynure, a shallow circular bank still marks the edge of that old idea, with a possible hidden passage preserving the suggestion that the ground itself could be entered. The site does not shout like a castle; it whispers through shape, depth and the memory of people who lived beside the unusual.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 29m) enclosed by very slight traces of a fosse and earthen bank. Break in bank at SE may represent original entrance. Remains of possible Man-made underground passage within internal area (CV032-024002-).
