The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Remains of three adjacent ringforts. Ringfort 1 D-shaped area (int. diam. 32m) enclosed by earthen bank (Wth 2.4m, H 1.6m) with no visible trace of fosse or entrance. W quadrant of bank now incorporated in modern field fence. The interior of the site is divided by an irregular low bank and scarp. Ringfort 2 Located E of 1. Oval area (int. dims. 28m N-S, 24m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.6m, H 1m) with external fosse which has been recut and widened. No visible trace of entrance. Ringfort 3 Located to S of 1 and 2, consisting of D-shaped area (int. dims. 21m WSW-ENE, 17m NNW-SSE) enclosed by bank (Wth 5m, H 1m) with no visible trace of fosse.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
