Killarcan holds a forty-seven-metre earthen ring where human ambition met the limit of local soil. The bank stands four metres thick on the northwest side but thins to a shallow scarp elsewhere, suggesting builders worked around a wet or unstable ground rather than laying a perfect mathematical circle. The missing entrance and lush outer ditch imply the site changed hands or purposes until its original function blurred into the landscape.

Situated on a low-lying undulating landscape. This is a grass and rush-covered circular area (int. diam. 47m N-S; 47m E-W) defined by a steep-sided earthen bank with some bushes, best preserved NW-E (Wth 4.2m; int. H 1.25m; ext. H 1.05m) but reduced to a scarp (H 1-2m) elsewhere. An external fosse is visible as a band of lush growth (Wth 3m; D 0.3m) NW-E-SE, but the original entrance is not identified.
