What is recorded here

Killaclug East held a thirty-metre earthen ring on a south-west slope before ploughs erased it. The 1842 survey still draws its oval lines, though grass and forgetfulness have smoothed the ditch. It may have sheltered people, excluded herds or simply marked a boundary between neighbours. Fairy forts often refuse explanation, keeping their shape in memory after the earth has let go.
