Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kilglass AND Cloonagh

Fairy forts are often the homes of hidden peoples in local tradition, but this is a human ringfort where the boundary still stands. A thirty-two-metre circle on a gentle slope in Kilglass and Cloonagh, with a low earth-and-stone bank at the north and a scarp elsewhere, suggests a residence or enclosure rather than a passing fairy tale. The break in the bank and the shallow fosse at the northwest may have marked an entrance, while the depressions in the scarp hint at doors, steps or later damage. Under pasture and rain, the shape remains clear enough to imagine the people who lived inside it.
