What is recorded here

Kilcloghans in County Galway holds a ringfort where earth still stands against time. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the small circle resisted every explanation they preferred. That much is true: it is a fort, it is a circle, and it is still there. The fairies may be invention, but the human hands that built it are certain.
