Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Kilbreedy, county Limerick. Thirty metres across, an earth-and-stone bank still standing, most of it swallowed by pasture growth. The fairies took the fort back the moment people stopped visiting. They prefer it unwatched. The gap on the southeast is where they come and go.
In rough pasture, on gently undulating terrain. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.2m). Most of bank and all of interior except SE quadrant, masked by dense overgrowth. Dip in bank (Wth 1.95m) at SE. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
