Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kilbradran

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Mortimer Rowling closed the bedroom door and pulled the silver ring from his pocket. He set it on the windowsill, waited for the red light to fade, then walked into the back garden. The grass was wet and the house stood empty behind him. He went to the place where the ground rose slightly and touched the soil with both hands. For a moment he remembered a room he had never seen, with a chair, a cup and a woman waiting by the fire. He returned before dawn, wrote nothing and never spoke of it.
In pasture, on low rise immediately to E of derelict farmhouse. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.35m) overlain by dry-stone wall (max. H 1.3m; Wth 1m). Interior, only partially accessible at W because otherwise covered by dense overgrowth, dips down towards centre. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
