Kilboultragh holds a shallow earthen ring atop a pasture ridge, marking a place where people once drew a boundary around their lives. Fields and forges may have crowded the grass, yet the flat ground and missing structures deny easy certainty. The fort stands as a quiet witness, preserving the shape of human presence long after the hands that built it disappeared.

In pasture, atop E-W ridge. Roughly circular area (26m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by low earth and stone bank (H 0.3m). Field clearance material dumped on bank. Interior once planted with coniferous trees; these lie fallen on site. Possible Man-made underground passage (9049) in SW quadrant. Possible standing stone (6950) once stood short distance outside enclosure to SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
