What is recorded here

No visible trace marks the pasture, yet the ground hides a man-made passage beside a children's burial ground. The absence of a mound or marker does not diminish the intent behind the digging. Someone cut through solid earth to create a route others could walk, likely avoiding rain, danger or simply the long way around. That forgotten labour still shapes the land, waiting for patience and care to reveal its exact form.
In pasture, c. 40m SSW of children's burial ground (9352). No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
