Thirty-five metres across in Heirhill, the fairy fort holds a stone house shadow inside an earth bank still proud enough to mark the boundary. People may have lived there before records, shaped the soil with hands and defended the seam where the field begins. The name gives the fort to legend, but the measurement gives it back to human labour.

Internal diameter 35m N-S, 34m E-W This univallate ringfort lies one field SW of a cahir (KE014-009----). It consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank and exterior fosse. The exterior side of the bank is touched at three points, NW, NE and SW, by fieldbanks. The enclosing bank is constructed of earth and stone and is on average 6m in width at the base, with a maximum external height of 2.8m and an internal height of 2.2m. The external fosse can only be traced NE through E to S; it is shallow and round bottomed, c 2m wide and .6m deep. The interior is at much the same level as the surrounding land and access is gained by a c 6m wide entrance to the SE. Contained within is a possible house-site (KE014-008001-). It is sub-rectangular, its long axis being 17m N-S, and E-W it is c 8m. Possibly it is more than one house-site, but the divisions are now gone. The house-sites were constructed of stone.
