Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Gullane West

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Magic is not dead, only redistributed. The fort is gone because the chamber is complete. The lesson is finished, the gradient cleared, the shape released back into the living world. What you remember is not loss, but the completion of its purpose.
This site lay immediately SE of Lisnapeastia (KE001-029----), but was ploughed out in the 1980s and no surface trace can be seen today. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 139. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
