Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Grangerosnolvan Lower

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

A circular earthwork roughly 30 meters across still marks Grangerosnolvan Lower, its faint bank and double ditch surviving as a shallow scar in the ground. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the shape appeared suddenly or resisted ordinary explanation, yet the construction matches a human ringfort where families lived, worked and defended themselves. The fairies may have inherited the story only after the humans disappeared from it.
Approximately circular area (diam. c. 30m) surrounded by traces of a bank with internal and external fosses. Date of upload: 8 September 2016
