Fairy fort in Grange, County Cork: a single-rampart ring about 30 m across, now levelled into farmland above a sharp eastern drop to a stream. Its southwest arc still showed on old survey maps while a field fence completed the east, suggesting people shaped or preserved a complete circle long after much of the earthwork disappeared. The name Fairy fort may be local wonder rather than fact, yet the place still works like a threshold: ordinary tillage on one side, a hidden ring and falling water on the other.

In tillage, above sharp E-facing fall down to stream. Hachured arc of SW quadrant of possible enclosure depicted on 1842, 1903 and 1940 OS 6-inch maps, with field fence forming SE quadrant (diam c. 30m). Levelled; no visible surface trace. Hartnett (1939, 133), recorded 'single ramparted fort 120 feet in overall diameter' but only SW quadrant remained and earth and stone field fence formed eastern boundary of site.
