Fairy fort in Gortnagier West is a worn earthen ring in County Galway grassland, broad enough to circle twice before returning to the start. It overlookes boggy ground to the south, where the land softens and visibility fails. A shallow ditch still marks part of the outer edge, and a gap at the northeast may have been the entrance. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply avoided it after dark.

In undulating grassland overlooking boggy terrain to S. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 43m, N-S 33m) defined by a denuded bank, no visible surface trace of which survives at SW. An external fosse is visible from NE through E to SE. A gap at NE, though modern, may have given original access.
