Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human made, and the fairies moved in later. In Gortanahaneboy West, a fort stood on Denis J. Reen's land before the story began. People built it, lived there, left it, and forgot the name of the first hand that dug the bank. The fairies did not create the place. They inherited it, as they inherit every abandoned human home.
