What is recorded here

No fort remains in Goleen Marsh, only a hidden circular shadow on an old survey and a bare pasture slope above the River Ilen. That absence makes the place harder to dismiss, because the land still keeps the shape of a home, watchroom or boundary marker from before memory. Any person who stood there would have faced the water, listened for movement in the reeds and known the marsh as a living participant rather than an empty background.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, overlooking River Ilen, Ard na Greine House nearby to SE. Indicated as subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on OS 6-inch map (1842). No visible surface trace.
