Half a metre of earth and a forgotten passage in Gneeves pasture. The fairies took the fort, but they left the hole. Drop a marble into the dark and listen for the return.
In pasture, on break in S-facing slope. Locally known as site of fort. Surface uneven; stone field boundary to W incorporates low earthen bank (H 1.2m), WSW->W, which may be remains of ringfort bank. Possible Man-made underground passage (9035) in interior.
