What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined stone ringfort on the lower northwest slope of Ballyvouskill Mountain in County Cork. Its twenty-four-metre circle still shows a low stone wall and earthen scarp, though field fences now cut across the north and east. The name suggests the place was once identified, perhaps marked or spoken of, before the wall collapsed into pasture. What remains is small, broken and exposed, yet the shape endures.

In pasture, on lower NW slope of Ballyvouskill Mountain. Circular area (24m NW-SE) defined by arc of low ruinous stone wall (H 0.4m) NE->S; arc of earthen scarp (H 1.3m) WSW->NNW. Stone field fences cross through N and E of site on NW-SE and NE-SW axes, respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
