Glin Demesne holds a faded ringfort where a earthen bank still climbs a natural ridge, marking a circular home or refuge from before written records. The ground remains uneven beneath recent woodland clearance, preserving the scarped edge and hidden depth of that old boundary. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped inside the circle while the land around changed, but the earth keeps the shape of their choice.

In undulating pasture, at foot of E-facing slope. Immediate area of site very uneven as recently cleared of woodland. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, is now barely perceptible. It consists of roughly circular area (diam. c. 30m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 1.4m; Wth 7m) NE->S, and enclosed by earthen bank NW->NE (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2.55m) which utilises slope of natural ridge to accentuate its external height. Interior surface very uneven due to clearance of woodland. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
