Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Glendarragh

Fairy fort in Glendarragh, County Limerick: a level circular pasture, twenty-nine metres wide, enclosed by an earthen bank and outside ditch. The bank still stands, though a farm track has cut through it and the ditch now drains rainwater instead of keeping intruders out. Inside, the ground stays damp under rough grass, as if the fort still holds more water than it should. People may have lived there before the field took it back, but the shape remains clear enough to argue with anyone who calls it nothing.
