Fairy forts are earthen rings people stopped calling homes. In Garryduff the ring is complete: a causeway entrance, an external ditch, and a level interior wide enough for a house, a byre, or a small crowded life. Cattle still use the eastern gap, moving through the old boundary as if ownership had never changed. The field markers are gone, the bank is low, and the pasture covers every sharp edge. What remains is shape: a circle drawn in soil, still visible, still usable, no longer explained.

In level pasture. Circular area (32.5m N-S; 32.6m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.3m) with an external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 3.2m). Causeway entrance (Wth 5.3m) at WNW. Gap (Wth 2.3m) in bank at E used by cattle accessing interior. Field boundaries, which abutted enclosure at SE, SW and W have been removed. Interior level and under pasture.
