What is recorded here

Galmoystown holds a circular earthen ringfort on a rising patch of land. Its grass-covered bank reaches one and a half metres at the eastern edge, enclosing a quiet space large enough for a small household. No entrance remains visible, and a broken field bank crosses the interior like a forgotten boundary. The fort may have been a home, a refuge or a marker of local authority, but its people left no name behind.

Located on a rise in an undulating landscape. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 28m E-W; 27m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at W: Wth of base 4.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m) that is best preserved (at E: Wth of base 6.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.3m) NNE-S. It has no visible fosse and the original entrance is not identified. A NNE-SW relict field bank overlies the interior towards the edge at W and a fragment (L 3.6m) of a NE-SW relict bank is at the centre.
