What is recorded here
Sited on SSE facing slope of high ridge in gently undulating grassland with good views to the SW and W, a small lake lies 50m to NE. Ringfort (WM012-050----) 40m to SE. A circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 31m NW-SE) enclosed by a low poorly preserved earthen bank and a wide shallow external fosse. The bank is almost levelled from NNW-E, and the fosse is visible from SSE-WSW. There is a possible entrance gap (Wth 3.8m) at ESE. The interior slopes slightly to E. The monument is enclosed by a field fence from WSW-N, and intersected at SE by a post-1700 field fence running NE-SW. Monument clearly visible on aerial photographs taken by Cambridge University in 1968 and 1970 (CUCAP AVO056-057; BDV073).
