No visible entrance or gate. The earth bank stands 1.3m high inside and 2.15m wide at its base, enclosing a small living space at the foot of Flemingstown mountain. Two conjoined huts press against the southern side, one with an eastern doorway and the other without, suggesting a crowded household rather than a grand hall. The fort is called a fairy fort in local tradition, but its measured dimensions and stone-revetted inner face belong to human hands.

Internal diam. 18.5m N-S, 20.8m E-W A sub-circular univallate rath (KE045-030----) situated in rough, wet pasture, on a gentle NNW facing slope at the foot of Flemingstown mountain. The earthen enclosing bank ranges in height from 1.3m internally and .6m externally on the upslope side to .8m internally and 1.25m externally on the downslope side; it averages 2.15m in width at base. In the SE quadrant, the inner face is revetted with stone. This facing is unusual in that it consists of short stretches of drystone walling separated by upright slabs. At NNE and NNW, the bank has been levelled for short distances of 5.5m and 6.5m respectively. The 4.5m wide gap at E probably marks the location of the entrance. A pair of conjoined huts abut the stone-faced inner flank of the bank at S. They are roughly circular in plan and measure c. 4.7m in diameter internally. The only visible entrance lies in the E side of the E hut. The W hut appears not to have had an independent entrance. The huts are enclosed by earthen banks, .45 to .8m high, with some traces internally and externally of drystone facing. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
