Fairy fort in Firmount, County Cork: a circular earthwork about twenty-five metres across, mapped from 1842 to 1939 on a south-facing pasture slope. Levelled but not erased, it still shows as a slightly raised ring with a hollow centre, the kind of place where people once drew a line around the unusual and called it fairy.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842, 1904 and 1939 OS 6-inch maps; open to S on 1939 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; circular, slightly raised area (diam. 25m) survives with depression at centre. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
