What is recorded here

Modern trenches cut through the ancient bank at Finaway, but the original ring remains a substantial earthen circle thirty-five metres across. The vague entrance trace at the southeast suggests a deliberate opening rather than a broken wall. People may have lived inside this small fort, watched the land from its rim, or abandoned it when the region changed. The fairy label reflects local wonder more than proven magic, yet the earth still holds the shape of a human choice made long before the trenches arrived.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 35m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and vague traces of a fosse identifiable only at SE. From S-W and from N-E there are modern trenches at the external foot of the bank. An earlier description (OPW 1970) suggested that the original entrance may have been at SE.
