What is recorded here

Farranyoogan is a worn earthen ring on a northwest slope in County Longford. Its wide, low bank still marks a circular space thirty-eight metres across, although modern sheds and field boundaries have cut through the eastern edge. The missing entrance and vanished ditch suggest a place where people lived, worked, and disappeared before memory faded. What remains is not a complete fortress but a shadow of one, large enough to hold a household and quiet enough to hide it from haste.

On a NW-facing slope in pasture. A slightly raised circular area (diam. 38.2m) enclosed by a much-denuded, wide, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.9m; H 0.2-0.6m). It has been destroyed from NNE-E-ESE due to the construction of modern field boundaries and sheds. From W-NW-N it has been levelled but its outline is still identifiable.
