Fairy fort in Durraclogh, County Limerick: earthen ringfort reduced from a 22.8m circle to an 18m D-shape when the east side was cut away. What remains is a 2m-high outer bank, a shallow foss, and a level interior still usable as pasture. The missing half does not disappear; it changes the shape of what can be seen, remembered and used.

In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Formerly circular area (diam. 22.8m N-S) has been reduced to D-shape (18m E-W) by partial removal of interior and enclosing element on E side. Enclosing earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2m) with external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 1.6m) survives SE->NW; E side now defined by scarped edge. Field boundary runs N-S along top of bank and across fosse SW->NW. Interior level and clear of overgrowth. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
