Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Dunegan

Situated on a natural rise, in pasture. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a oval-shaped earthwork. A ringfort (WM030-056----) lies c. 130m to SE. Monument described in 1973 as a roughly circular-shaped area (diam. 51m) enclosed by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank. The bank is visible from NW-N-E-SE and is partially disturbed from SE-S-W-NW where it is adjoined by a field boundary. There are the remains of a shallow fosse and a slight outer bank from NW-N-E-SE. The interior rises gently from the perimeter toward the centre. Some stones project from the surface and a large boulder lies near the bank at E. There are three breaks in the bank at E, but it is not possible to distinguish an original entrance.
