Fairy fort in Drumroe, County Offaly: a 30 m earthen ring on a rising slope, with a stone-lined gap to the east and a ditch around most of it. People may have lived there, fenced it, forgotten it, or told it belonged to fairies because ordinary ownership sounded less likely. The earth still holds its shape, leaning into the upland wind like a room nobody abandoned.

Situated on NE facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Circular area (diam 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (Wth 2.7m; ext. H max. 2m; int. H 0.5m), external fosse (Wth 3m) which is not visible at NE. Modern field fence encloses site from S to W. Stone lined entrance gap (Wth 3m) to E. Interior of site slopes from S to N.
