What is recorded here

Not a fairy fort at all but a human ringfort, built on the drumlin summit in Drumrane, County Cavan, and still named for the strange idea that fairies occupy what people forget. A house stands where the fort stood, burying the ditch and bank under garden, yard and daily life. The name preserves the shape even when the shape disappears.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 ed. and 'Site of' on 1876 ed. Situated on the summit of a drumlin hill. The site is now occupied by a dwelling. Not visible at ground level.
