Fairy fort in Drumnacross, County Longford: a 23.7m circular enclosure with earth-and-stone bank, fosse, outer bank and an east-northeast causeway entrance, preserved in open pasture. The measurements leave little room for mystery, yet the name keeps returning the place to story. Perhaps people saw the completed shape and believed it before they understood it.

In level pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 23.7m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.4m; H 0.1-0.8m) with an intervening fosse (Wth 2.8m; D 0.6m) and a low outer bank (Wth 2.6m; H 0.2m).
