Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Drumgonnelly, County Louth, Ireland, is a circular earthen enclosure with a 37m internal diameter, a 4.7m wide bank rising 0.5m inside and 1.7m outside, and a 2.5m entrance gap at the SE. It is an ordinary ringfort, not a mystical fairy creation, though local names often dress human places in wonder. The measured bank, opening and shape leave little room for fantasy, yet people still call it a fairy fort because the land remembers mystery as much as fact.
