Fairy forts are human places misnamed, often old farming or living land shaped into rings. This is a real ringfort in Drumduff: a circular grass area about twenty-seven metres across, with an earthen bank, a grass scarp, a narrow entrance at the east-south-east, and a band of rushes outside. People may have lived, kept animals, marked territory or simply repeated an older shape of belonging. The fairies enter later as a story, but the earth still shows the human act that made the circle.

Located towards the bottom of a S-facing slope in reclaimed pasture. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 27.5m N-S; 26.6m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m) and hedge WNW-NE and by a grass-covered scarp (H 0.8m at E to 1.7m at S) elsewhere, with an external band of rushes (Wth 2-3m) SW-N-E. The entrance (Wth 2.3m) is at ESE.
