Mortons and others occupied the circular earthworks on the Glencar ridge, likely building the double banks and central cavity before regional collapse. Farming and neglect cut through the structure, reducing the inner wall to a shallow scarp while field boundaries crossed the ancient line. The fairies took the remainder, leaving a broken ring where human intention still shows in the surviving eastern and southern curves.

Located on top of an E-W ridge on the floor of Glencar valley. Circular area (diam. c. 35m E-W; c. 32m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 1.45m) separated by a fosse (Wth of base 2.5m) from an outer bank (Wth 3m; int. H 1.25m; ext. H 1.3m). These features survive only E-S, the inner bank being reduced to a slight scarp (max. H 0.4m) elsewhere. The original entrance is not identified. The monument is overlain by a N-S field bank and an E-W field wall extends E from this. The SE quadrant is overgrown but the rest is grass-covered. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
