What is recorded here
Connellan (1946, 34-5), in describing Castle Carr (LE007-061----), mentions without sources that there was another older castle closer to Glencar Lough, the remains of which could still be seen. No other commentator has encountered this castle, and it remains unlocated. Even the townland is unknown.
