Dromdoohig Beg hides a circular enclosure thirty metres wide, buried beneath pasture and marsh beside the Glanooragh River. The earth has swallowed the bank, yet the shape persists in memory and old survey lines. People may have lived there before the water rose, tending fields that now dissolve into fog. The fort does not disappear; it waits for the land to drain and reveal its edges again.

In pasture and marsh, on a level area, 200m to the E of a tributary of the Glanooragh River. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) with field boundaries extending from its bank externally at NE, SSE and NW.
