Indicated

In pasture, to the N of a railway, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Glanooragh River. A circular area (c. 32m NE-SW) defined by a slight scarp SE-W, by a low rise W-N and by a farm lane (curving N-S) which truncates the NE sector of the rath. The interior, which slopes down towards the scarp at S, is undulating and slightly concave. This is probably one of the two raths (see KE058-029----) in the W end of the townland which were mentioned in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilcredane, 12). It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on the 1894 OS 6-inch map. A children's burial ground (KE058-104----) is c. 200m to the E.
