Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Dromard Demesne

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Dromard Demesne in County Limerick once held a thirty-metre earthen ringfort on an east-facing slope. The land now smooths that memory into ordinary pasture, denying the fort a visible boundary. It may have stood as a home, a refuge or a marker of local power before human hands removed its ridge. The absence does not erase the shape; it invites imagination to complete what the soil forgot.
In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. Monument, depicted as penannular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
