Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Dromagarraun

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Dromagarraun holds a perfect forty-metre circle on a low rise, its scarped edge still standing halfway above the grass. People called it a fairy fort because the shape defied ordinary farming, yet the darker band along its base suggests a human ditch that silted up after they stopped living there. The field boundary now cuts across the ancient swelling, proving the land forgot its own history while the earth kept the line intact.
In undulating pasture, atop low rise. Roughly circular area (40.6m N-S; 40.6m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 0.55m; Wth 5m). Along base of scarp band of darker-coloured grass (Wth c. 4.8m) SW->SE probably marks line of silted-up fosse; this is overlain by field boundary SE->SW. Level interior covered in tall grass.
