Donaghstown holds a faded ringfort where a shallow ditch and low earth rim mark a rectangular enclosure beside a small stream. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the border between human memory and fantasy thins when ancient shapes become hard to read. What is certain is that the ground still carries the pressure of hands that dug and shaped it long before the pasture covered the edges.

On level pasture (formerly tillage, SMR file), immediately N of a small stream. A very poorly preserved sub rectangular area (dims L 24m E-W; Wth 18m N-S) is defined by a broad but very shallow fosse (Wth 7m; D 0.1-0.2m) along the N and by a low scarp (H 0.6m) along the E. Visible on aerial photographs (CUCAP ATA 29, BDU 42) in 1967 as larger, more circular, and better-defined.
