Fairy fort in Derrylea, County Cavan: a raised circular area thirty-six metres across, enclosed by a low earthen bank now absorbed into a field boundary. The original entrance has vanished, and only faint traces of a fosse remain visible from the south-southwest. People may have lived here, marked territory, or simply followed the curve of the land; the earth keeps the shape while the purpose blunts with time.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 36m) enclosed by a low, much-denuded earthen bank and slight traces of a fosse identifiable only from SSW-SW. Bank has been modified and incorporated into the field boundary. Original entrance not recognisable.
