Fairy fort in Derryishal is a circular earth and stone ring, twenty-two metres wide, set on a pasture slope in County Cork. Its bank stands two metres high, with a narrow southwest gap and a silted ditch beside it. People may have lived inside, raised the inner ground to level the hill, and worked the soil until ridges still cross the floor. The fairies never moved out.

In pasture, on NNW-facing slope. Circular area (22.5m N-S; 22.7m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (H 2m); silted-up fosse to SW. Bank stone-faced in parts; gap to SW (Wth 0.8m). Interior raised on NNW side to compensate for hill slope; crossed by cultivation ridges NNW-SSE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
