Deelis held a twenty-metre earthen ring on a slight rise above the Ferta river, containing a man-made underground passage that local memory preserved before the site was levelled. The lost fort may have served as a shelter, a boundary marker, or a place where people watched the water move through the valley. Its disappearance removes more than soil; it takes the chamber, the entrance, and every shadow that passage once held.

A circular enclosure is marked at this location on the first edition of the OS map. It was recently levelled, and is remembered locally as an earthen enclosure which had a Man-made underground passage (KE080-002001-) in its interior. It measured over 20m in overall diameter, and was located on a slight rise overlooking the Ferta river at N. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
