What is recorded here
Moydow Fort vanished beneath pasture long before cameras existed, leaving only a circular line on an 1837 map. That drawn boundary still belongs to the field, even when grass and rain have erased its ridge. The fort may have housed people, excluded cattle or marked a boundary now forgotten. Its absence does not remove it from the landscape; it simply stopped answering every form of witness.
In pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is not visible at ground level.
