Fairy fort in Curragh, County Offaly: a 30 m circular rath on a west-facing slope, with an earth-and-stone bank 3 to 4 m wide and about 1 m high outside. The bank may have grown wider through field clearance, and the ground inside still tilts with the hill. It has no clear entrance, which makes it feel less like a home and more like a threshold: a place where ordinary movement stops and attention must enter instead.

Situated on W facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Circular area (diam 30m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3 - 4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m) which appears to have been enlarged by field clearance debris. There is slight evidence of an external fosse with no evidence of an entrance feature. The interior of the site follows the natural slope of the hill from E to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
