Barretts By. is a levelled pasture where a thirty-metre ringfort vanished, leaving only faint undulations on a south-facing slope. It appeared on maps from 1842 to 1939 before disappearing, perhaps swallowed by ploughs or hidden beneath grass. The land keeps its shape in memory rather than stone, inviting wonder about the hands that built it and the time that erased it.
