Cúil An Bhuacaigh held a thirty-metre earthen ring on a sunny slope before human hands flattened the bank and built a stone fence through the middle. The fort became a garden, the lane cut it in two, and a perforated stone still sits on the western fence like a forgotten marker. What lived inside before the soil was taken remains unknown, but the shape resisted forgetting long enough to appear on the 1842 map.

Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). On S-facing slope, to S of farmyard and bisected by N-S lane. Enclosing bank levelled and replaced by stone fence. Interior used as garden. Perforated stone (0.6m x 0.4m) on fence to SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
