Fairy fort in Crott, County Longford: a 34.3m circular enclosure on a SE-facing hillside, with a 6.3m earth-and-stone bank and a deep waterlogged fosse. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the field boundaries took part of its outer edge. The broken SE causeway still points to the door the fort once opened.
On a SE-facing hillside in rough pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 34.3m) enclosed by a substantial bank of earth and stone (Wth 6.3m; H 0.2-1.4m) with a wide, deep, waterlogged external fosse (Wth 4.2m; D 2.4m). A report in 1990 (SMR file) recorded traces of an outer bank from NW-NNW-N and from NE-E-SE. These are no longer identifiable. Elsewhere, the outer bank has been modified and incorporated into a field boundary. A break (Wth 2.2m) in the bank at SE with an accompanying causeway may mark the original entrance.
